President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is scheduled to undertake an official visit to the Batticaloa and Ampara districts on May 20 and 22, according to the Department of Government Information.
During the visit, the President is expected to participate in a series of official engagements, including District Coordination Committee meetings and development-related events.
On May 20, President Dissanayake will attend the Batticaloa District Coordination Committee meeting at the old District Secretariat auditorium and later take part in the “Ratama Ekata” national programme aimed at eliminating drug abuse at the Batticaloa Weber Stadium.
On May 22, the President is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the Nintavur Cultural Centre and also launch the construction of a new shopping complex in Ampara town.
He will conclude the visit by attending the Ampara District Coordination Committee meeting at the District Secretariat auditorium. (Newswire)
