Castle Street Hospital for Women has rejected social media claims that it is performing gender-change procedures on children.
The clarification was issued by Hospital Director Dr. Ajith Danthanarayana in a letter addressed to the Director General of Health Services.
The statement follows remarks reportedly made by Ven. Elle Gunawansa Thero during a television programme, which later circulated on social media.
“As the Director of the hospital, I responsibly state that no such activity is taking place at this institution,” Dr. Danthanarayana stated.
He further stated that the hospital remains open to any investigation into the matter and requested authorities to take steps to correct what he described as false information being circulated publicly. (Newswire)
