
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake visited the ‘Ranaviru Sevana’ Rehabilitation Centre in Ragama today (19) to inquire into the health and well-being of army personnel receiving residential treatment.
During the visit, the President engaged in cordial discussions with the soldiers and commended their sacrifices for the unity of the country.
He also met with doctors and senior staff at the centre, reviewing the medical and service facilities available and exploring ways to further strengthen support for the soldiers under treatment.
The visit comes ahead of the National War Heroes Day Ceremony scheduled for this afternoon in Battaramulla.
The President was accompanied by Minister Krishantha Abeysena, Deputy Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe, Defence Ministry Secretary Air Vice Marshal (Retired) Sampath Thuyyakontha, Army Commander Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo, Brigadier R.J.L.K. Weerakoon, Director of Ranaviru Services and Rehabilitation of the Sri Lanka Army, and Retired Brigadier Senarath Kohona, Chairman of the Ranaviru Services Authority, among others. (Newswire)
