
The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued landslide early warnings for six districts amid prevailing heavy rainfall conditions.
Red evacuation notices have been issued for Deraniyagala, Ruwanwella and Dehiowita in the Kegalle District, as well as Eheliyagoda, Kuruwita, Ayagama and Ratnapura in the Ratnapura District.
Meanwhile, second-level landslide warnings, advising residents to remain vigilant, have been issued for Seethawaka and Padukka in the Colombo District; Attanagalla in the Gampaha District; Bulathsinhala, Horana, Ingiriya and Palindanuwara in the Kalutara District; Yatiyanthota in the Kegalle District; and Pelmadulla, Kirialla, Elapatha, Kalawana and Nivithigala in the Ratnapura District.
In addition, landslide warnings, urging the public to remain alert, have been issued for Meerigama and Divulapitiya in the Gampaha District; Agalawatta and Matugama in the Kalutara District; Bulathkohupitiya in the Kegalle District; and Ambagamuwa in the Nuwara Eliya District. (Newswire)
