The Katana Police have launched an investigation into the suspicious death of a woman in the Akkarapana area on Sunday (24).
According to the Police, the 76‑year‑old resident was found deceased inside her home, where she had been living alone.
The discovery was made at noon, prompting immediate inquiries by officers attached to the Katana Police Division.
A post‑mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted today (25) at the Negombo Hospital.
