A rare albino buffalo in Bangladesh, nicknamed “Donald Trump” because of its blond tuft of hair, has reportedly been spared from Eid al-Adha sacrifice after becoming an overnight viral sensation on social media.

According to international media reports, the buffalo had already been sold for ritual slaughter when videos and photos of the animal began circulating online, attracting widespread attention across Bangladesh.

The nearly 700-kilogram (1,500-pound) buffalo soon drew large crowds to the farm where it was being kept, with visitors travelling from different areas to see the unusual animal in person.

Authorities later intervened over growing security and crowd management concerns, reports said.

The government has now reportedly arranged for the buffalo to be moved to the national zoo in Dhaka instead of being sacrificed.

The buffalo’s owner said the animal earned the nickname “Donald Trump” due to its distinctive blond hairstyle, which many compared to that of current US President Donald Trump. (Newswire)
