Sri Lanka have been forced to make a change to their squad ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 after Sashini Gimhani was ruled out with injury.
Sri Lanka Cricket said Gimhani, who was part of the original 15-member squad, sustained a lower back injury during training and was unable to travel with the team to England on June 2.
The Cricket Selection Panel has named right-arm medium-fast bowler Chethana Vimukthi as her replacement in the squad.
Sri Lanka are set to begin their campaign at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England later this month. (Newswire)
