The Department of Meteorology says strong winds of 40-50 kmph can be expected at times over the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Northern and North Central provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee and Hambantota districts due to active southwest monsoon conditions.
Fairly strong winds of 30-40 kmph are also expected at times in other parts of the country.
The Met Department has advised the public to take necessary precautions as windy conditions are likely to prevail across the island.
