The Colombo High Court is scheduled to deliver judgment today (09) in four corruption cases filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) against former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena.
The cases relate to allegations that Gunawardena caused a financial loss to the government in 2006 while serving as Chairman of the National Lotteries Board by procuring vehicles for the institution on a rental basis.
The judgments were originally scheduled to be delivered on May 26. However, Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihal postponed the delivery after informing court that the rulings were not yet ready.
The four cases were subsequently fixed for judgment on June 9.
Gunawardena has denied the allegations levelled against him. (Newswire)
