The Court of Appeal has postponed until July 10 consideration of further submissions in a writ petition filed by former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director Suresh Sallay, seeking to invalidate a detention order issued under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) following his arrest by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The petition was taken up before a bench comprising Justices Rohantha Abeysooriya  and Priyantha Fernando.

It is reported that appearing for Sallay, President’s Counsel Sanjeewa Jayawardena presented submissions to court, outlining how the ideology of the ISIS terrorist organization had operated within Sri Lanka.

After hearing the submissions, the Court directed that the matter be called again on July 10 for further arguments. (Newswire)
