Sri Lanka Railways has encouraged government employees who travel by train to register for its new digital season ticket platform, “Pravesha”, as part of efforts to modernise ticketing services.
In a public notice, Sri Lanka Railways said concessionary season tickets for public sector employees are now being issued only through the Pravesha digital system, which was introduced on June 9.
The department advised employees to first ensure that their institutions have been registered on the platform before creating individual accounts through the official website, www.pravesha[.]lk.
Applicants are required to obtain an Organisation Authentication Code from their respective institutions to complete the registration process.
Following institutional approval, users can apply for season tickets through the platform and make payments digitally.
Sri Lanka Railways also announced that the Pravesha mobile application will be available for download from June 15, enabling users to register and access services through their smartphones.
The department urged public sector employees who commute by train to make use of the platform and complete the registration process through the website or mobile application. (Newswire)
