
The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced a 19-hour water supply interruption in several areas of the Gampaha District from Tuesday (16) due to urgent maintenance work at the Karasnagala Water Treatment Plant in Attanagalla.
According to the NWSDB, the water cut will be in effect from 8 a.m. on Tuesday (16) until 3 a.m. on Wednesday (17).
The interruption will affect areas under the Minuwangoda, Gampaha, Mahara, Attanagalla and Nittambuwa water supply schemes.
Affected areas include Minuwangoda, Asgiriya, Udugampola, Opatha, the Gampaha Municipal Council area, the Gampaha Pradeshiya Sabha area, Weliweriya, Belummahara, Rathupaswala and surrounding areas.
In addition, residents of Maharagama, Sivaralumulla, Kirikiththa, Kinigama, Atikehelgalla and the surrounding areas under the Mahara Pradeshiya Sabha jurisdiction, and Ranpokunagama Housing Scheme, Urapola, Attanagalla, Bataleeya, Wathupitiwala and surrounding areas will be affected.
Nittambuwa, Veyangoda, Kalagedihena, Thihariya and Naiwala will also be affected by the water cut. (Newswire)
