Trinity announces landmark Rs. 3 Billion gift from distinguished old boy Nahil Wijesuriya

Trinity College Kandy has announced a donation of Rs. 3 billion from distinguished old boy and businessman Nahil Wijesuriya, describing it as a major contribution towards the institution’s future development.

In a statement issued today, Principal Rev. Fr. Araliya Jayasundara said the College will establish a dedicated fund to ensure the prudent management and sustainable use of the donation, which will be directed towards enhancing educational quality and student development.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the Trinity community, the Principal said the donation reflects confidence in the institution and its mission to shape future generations of Trinitians.

Wijesuriya is widely known for his philanthropic support of education in Sri Lanka and has previously contributed to a number of leading schools, including S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, Ananda College and Bishops College Colombo. (Newswire)
