The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has taken into custody the leader of the New People’s Front, Sugeeshwara Bandara.
According to reports, Bandara has been arrested in connection with an ongoing probe into alleged irregularities involving government salaries.
Bandara has been taken into custody over an investigation into claims that he had obtained salaries from two separate government institutions simultaneously.
He previously served as former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s Private Secretary. (Newswire)
