Police in Grandpass have launched an investigation after an unidentified body of a male was found washed ashore near the Kelani Bridge at Sedawatta on Wednesday morning.
The deceased, believed to be between 35 and 40 years old, is approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with hair grown to about one inch in length. He was found bare‑chested, wearing blue buttoned trousers.
The Police said the identity of the man has not yet been confirmed. Following the magistrate’s examination, the body was placed in the mortuary of the Colombo National Hospital.
