The Pakistan government has announced a major reduction in fuel prices, lowering both petrol and diesel rates in a move aimed at providing relief to consumers.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said petrol prices will be reduced by 74 Pakistani rupees per litre, bringing the price down from 373 Pakistani rupees to 299 Pakistani rupees per litre.
Diesel prices have also been cut by 67 Pakistani rupees per litre, with the new rate falling from 378 Pakistani rupees to 311 Pakistani rupees per litre.
The significant reduction comes amid changes in global energy markets and is expected to ease transportation and fuel costs across the country.
Prime Minister Sharif said the decision reflects the government’s efforts to pass on the benefits of lower international oil prices to the public and support economic activity. (Newswire)
