
Sri Lanka moved into a commanding position against the West Indies Select XI at the end of the third day of their warm-up match, requiring just 94 more runs for victory with nine wickets in hand.
After bowling out the West Indies Select XI for 205 in their first innings, Sri Lanka replied with 281 to secure a first-innings lead of 76 runs.
Dinesh Chandimal led the batting effort with 74, while Nishan Madushka contributed 46. Lahiru Kumara starred with the ball earlier in the match, claiming 4 wickets for 39 runs.
The West Indies Select XI were then dismissed for 199 in their second innings despite Joshua Bishop’s aggressive 68 and Ackeem Auguste’s 46. Sonal Dinusha and Prabath Jayasuriya picked up three wickets each for Sri Lanka.
Set a target of 124 for victory, Sri Lanka reached 30 for 1 at stumps on the third day. Nishan Madushka remained unbeaten on 24, while Lahiru Udara was dismissed for 2.
