Health ministry lists 538 GN divisions as high-risk areas for dengue

The government has announced that 538 Grama Niladhari divisions across 14 districts have been declared high‑risk zones as part of intensified efforts to control and eradicate the island‑wide dengue spread.

According to a report issued by the government, the Western Province has been hardest hit, with the majority of divisions in Colombo, Gampaha, and Kalutara included.

In Colombo, divisions under several Medical Officer of Health areas such as Battaramulla, Maharagama, Piliyandala, Homagama, Kaduwela, Boralesgamuwa, Dehiwala, Egodauyana, and Gothatuwa have been identified as high‑risk. 

Gampaha areas including Attanagalla, Seeduwa, Kelaniya, Ragama, Minuwangoda, Negombo, Biyagama, Wattala, Katana, and Mahara are also on the list.

In Kalutara, divisions in Bandaragama, Horana, Ingiriya, Matugama, Panadura, Wadduwa, Kalutara, and Payagala are covered.

Beyond the Western Province, divisions in Galle, Hambantota, Matara, Kandy, Matale, Ratnapura, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Puttalam, Badulla, and Batticaloa have also been declared high‑risk.
