A rural bank in the Koralaima area in the Moragahahena Police Division was robbed early this morning when three suspects broke open a safe and escaped with a stock of gold jewellery.
Police said the incident occurred around 1.00 am when the group entered the bank premises, tied up the security officers on duty, and gained access through a window of the washroom at the back of the building.
The suspects then broke open the safe and stole the jewellery before fleeing.
The Police further said that none of the suspects have been arrested so far, and investigations are underway. (Newswire)
