Several media organisations have aired an alleged phone recording said to feature conversations involving Attorney-at-Law Rakkhitha Rajapaksa, SJB Horana organiser Charith Abeysinghe and a woman identified as the wife of alleged underworld figure Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne, alias “Harak Kata”.
The recording, which has been widely shared on social media, contains claims relating to alleged payments made to public officials and discussions about money allegedly received in connection with efforts to assist “Harak Kata”.
However, the authenticity of the audio recording has not been independently verified, and the identities of those heard in the recording have not been officially confirmed.
The recording surfaced hours after the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) arrested Rakkhitha Rajapaksa, Charith Abeysinghe and former Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd. Director Aruna Sri Chathuranga over allegations of soliciting a Rs. 120 million bribe linked to “Harak Kata”. (Newswire)
