The Colombo High Court today directed that summons be issued to two Indian witnesses in the Krrish transaction case filed against MP Namal Rajapaksa.
The order was made by High Court Judge Nadee Aparna Suwandurugoda, who instructed that the summons be sent under the procedure outlined by the Judicial Service Commission for foreign witnesses.
The ruling followed a notification from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) that the two witnesses could not be contacted.
The case stems from charges filed by the Attorney General alleging that Namal Rajapaksa committed criminal breach of trust by obtaining Rs. 70 million from the Indian Krrish company, purportedly for the promotion of rugby in Sri Lanka. (Newswire)
