Sri Lanka will begin their new ICC World Test Championship campaign today when they take on the West Indies in the opening Test of the two-match series at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
The match is scheduled to begin at 7.30 p.m. Sri Lanka time.
Sri Lanka have opted to leave out frontline spinner Prabath Jayasuriya, instead selecting a four-man pace attack for the series opener. The decision suggests the visitors are expecting conditions in Antigua to favour seam bowling.
Captain Dhananjaya de Silva will lead the side, with Asitha Fernando, Lahiru Kumara, Kasun Rajitha and Milan Rathnayake forming the pace attack. Spin duties are expected to be shared by Dhananjaya de Silva and all-rounder Sonal Dinusha.
