DDS takes Sri Lanka to 308 : Full scorecard

Sri Lanka’s captain Dhananjaya de Silva produced a composed century to lead a spirited batting display as the tourists were bowled out for 308 late on the opening day of the first Test against the West Indies at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Thursday.

Dhananjaya struck a patient 120 off 168 deliveries, hitting 17 boundaries to register his 13th Test century. He rescued Sri Lanka after the visitors slipped to 110 for five, sharing a crucial 99-run partnership with Sonal Dinusha, who contributed a valuable 43.

Earlier, Nishan Madushka made 23 while Dinesh Chandimal added 54 before Dhananjaya took charge of the innings. Milan Rathnayake chipped in with 27 lower down the order as Sri Lanka reached 308 in 71.5 overs.

For the West Indies, Justin Greaves claimed 3 for 39, while Kemar Roach, Alzarri Joseph, and Shamar Joseph picked up two wickets each. Jayden Seales also claimed a wicket. (Newswire)
