Sri Lanka Police has announced a special traffic plan to facilitate the National Scout Poson Zone, which will be held in Colombo on June 28 and 29.
The event, organised for the first time by the Sri Lanka Scout Association to coincide with Poson, will take place along Chittampalam A. Gardiner Mawatha between the Lake House Roundabout (Regal Junction) and Police Headquarters Roundabout from 6.00 p.m. to 1.00 a.m. on both days.
Police said temporary traffic restrictions and road closures will be implemented at key junctions, including access from Regal Junction to Chittampalam A. Gardiner Mawatha, the Justice Akbar Mawatha–Malay Street junction, and Scout Mawatha towards the Slave Island flyover.
Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes via D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha, Lotus Road, Gamini Roundabout, the NSA Roundabout, Aliya Naana Roundabout and the Malay Street flyover, depending on their direction of travel.
Parking has been arranged at several locations, including D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha, Kumaran Ratnam Road, Chatham Street, the former MOD grounds, the Shangri-La grounds, Access Tower at Union Place, the Lake House car park, the old Manning Market car park and Chatham car park.
Police urged motorists to plan their journeys accordingly and follow traffic instructions issued during the event. (Newswire)
