The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has taken steps to establish a state-of-the-art High-Performance Centre aimed at enhancing the performance of Sri Lankan athletes and improving the country’s international sporting success.
The initiative, proposed by Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Sunil Kumara Gamage, seeks to provide athletes with modern technology, facilities and scientific support to develop their physical, mental and technical abilities.
A special review and planning meeting on the project was held on Thursday under the minister’s chairmanship, with the participation of members of the High-Performance Centre Committee and sports specialists.
Discussions focused on the implementation of the project, its operational framework, and recommendations from experts to ensure the centre meets international standards.
