A 30-year-old man was killed in a sharp weapon attack in the Kinchigune area of the Weeraketiya Police Division on the night of June 27, police said.
The victim, a resident of Hakuruwela, was allegedly attacked following a dispute with another individual, according to preliminary investigations.
During the incident, the suspect’s mother also sustained injuries and is receiving treatment at Weeraketiya Hospital.
Police arrested the 29-year-old suspect, a resident of Medamulana, in connection with the killing.
The body has been placed at the Weeraketiya Hospital mortuary, while Weeraketiya Police are conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
