Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a video that circulated on social media showing a dog being attacked near Ashraff Memorial Hospital within the Kalmunai Police Division.
According to police, the incident was reported on 27 June 2026 after the footage began spreading online, prompting officers from the Kalmunai Police Station to launch an immediate investigation.
Following inquiries, officers identified and arrested the suspect, a 21-year-old resident of the Kalmunakudi area. Police said further investigations are currently underway into the incident.
