The overall rate of inflation, as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) on a year-on-year basis, has increased to 6.8% in June 2026.
According to the Department of Census and Statistics, the figure is an increase from the 5.5% reported in May this year.
Food inflation has also increased to 3.6% in June compared to the 0.9% recorded in May.
Non-food inflation has also reported an increase to 8.4% in June from the 7.% in May.
