Police officers attached to the Nedunkerny Police Station arrested a suspect late on June 30 while transporting 78 kilograms of Kerala cannabis in a car at the Periyakulam junction.
The arrest was made during a roadblock set up following intelligence received by the Officer‑in‑Charge.
The vehicle was stopped and searched, leading to the discovery of the cannabis stock.
The suspect, a 31‑year‑old resident of Pudukkudiyiruppu, was taken into custody.
