Sri Lankan batsman Pathum Nissanka has successfully undergone wrist surgery in London, his manager Asanka Wijewardena confirmed.
The operation was carried out today and was successful.
Nissanka is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks as he recovers from the procedure.
The surgery was performed at Sarum Road Hospital in London.
The injury will rule him out of this year’s Lanka Premier League, but he is expected to be fit in time for Sri Lanka’s upcoming Test series against India.
Sri Lanka team doctor Daminda Attanayake is in London with Nissanka during his treatment and recovery. (Newswire)
