A 29-year-old woman has died after allegedly being assaulted by her husband following a family dispute in the Bimpokuna area of Aralaganwila.
Police said the woman, a resident of Bimpokuna, was admitted to the Aralaganwila Hospital after the assault but later succumbed to her injuries.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the alleged assault occurred after a family dispute escalated.
Police have launched an investigation and are searching for the suspect, who is believed to be the victim’s husband. (Newswire)
