The Department of Meteorology says strong winds of between 40 and 50 kmph can be expected at times in several parts of the country due to active south-west monsoon conditions.
The affected areas include the Central, Sabaragamuwa and North Central provinces, as well as the districts of Monaragala, Puttalam, Hambantota, Trincomalee and Mannar.
