
Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa met with the newly elected office-bearers of the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) at the Ministry of Health and Mass Media recently.
Deputy Health Minister Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni also attended the meeting, during which the Minister congratulated the GMOA’s new President Dr. Chandika Epitakaduwa, Secretary Dr. Bandara Warakagoda and the newly appointed executive committee.
The Minister said he looked forward to the GMOA’s continued support in implementing the Ministry’s plans to provide high-quality healthcare services to the public.
The discussion also focused on the current dengue situation, dengue control measures, and the challenges faced by specialist doctors, medical officers, nurses and other healthcare staff in treating dengue patients.
During the meeting, GMOA Secretary Dr. Bandara Warakagoda presented the Minister with a report containing the association’s proposals on dengue control.
The GMOA’s new office-bearers said they hoped to work closely with the Health Ministry in carrying out future initiatives. The two sides also exchanged views on the professional concerns of GMOA members. (Newswire)
