The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory for strong winds in the Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces and the Matale, Hambantota, and Trincomalee districts.
Per the advisory, effective until 11.00 am tomorrow (16), strong winds of about 40-50 kmph can be expected at times in the said areas due to the active south-west monsoonal condition.
Red alerts have been issued to 12 districts and amber alerts to 11 districts during this period. (Newswire)
