Former National Olympic Committee Chairman Suresh Subramaniam passed away

Former National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOCSL) President Suresh Subramaniam has passed away.

Subramaniam served as President of the NOCSL from 2018 until 2026, overseeing the country’s Olympic movement during a period marked by governance reforms and administrative challenges. He was re-elected in 2021 for a second term before stepping down earlier this year following the completion of his tenure.

Widely recognised as a long-serving sports administrator, Subramaniam played a key role in the administration of Olympic sports in Sri Lanka and was involved in several governance initiatives within the National Olympic Committee during his tenure.
