The heat index — the temperature felt by the human body — is expected to rise to the “Caution” level at some places in the Eastern Province and in Kilinochchi, Mullaittivu, Vavuniya, Polonnaruwa and Monaragala districts during the daytime.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against prolonged exposure to heat.
