Sri Lankan musician Dayan Witharana has appealed to the public to help reunite a patient at Maharagama Apeksha Hospital with his long‑lost partner, who is believed to be living in Australia.

The emotional plea comes after Witharana, along with singers Sewwandi Ranatunga and Priyanath Ratnayake, performed at the hospital’s “Shantha Sewane” ward recently.

Despite his frail condition, the patient requested songs including Niranjala Sarojini’s “Oba Dekaganimen” and Witharana’s “Sittham Karamin.”

Moved by the music, he revealed that his beloved left peacefully about 20 years ago and now resides overseas. He expressed that seeing her once more would be his greatest happiness, especially as his health remains uncertain.

Witharana and Ranatunga have shared the video of the moment on social media, urging anyone who recognizes the patient or his former partner to assist in reconnecting them.

“If he could see her even once, how much happiness he would gain,” Witharana said, adding that helping him would be an act of great merit. (Newswire)
