Construction of a new viewing centre at the popular Dunhinda Falls in Badulla officially commenced today (27), with an investment of Rs. 20 million.
The project was launched near the existing viewing platform under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Tourism Ruwan Ranasinghe.
The new facility will replace the existing viewing platform, which is more than 50 years old and is currently in a deteriorated condition.
The Uva Provincial Ministry of Tourism has allocated Rs. 20 million for the project, which is expected to provide improved viewing facilities and other necessary infrastructure for local and foreign tourists.
The project is also aimed at improving visitor safety and supporting the development of tourism in the Uva Province.
Officials, including Soranathota Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Jayalath Edirimanna, attended the launch of the project. (Newswire)
