Former SJB Horana organiser Charith Abeysinghe was taken back into prison custody after failing to meet the bail conditions imposed by the court.
Earlier on Monday, the Colombo Magistrate’s Court granted bail to three suspects, including attorney Rakhitha Rajapaksha and Charith Abeysinghe, who had been remanded over allegations of accepting a Rs. 120 million bribe from the wife of alleged major drug trafficker “Harak Kata”.
The court ordered the release of attorney Rakhitha Rajapaksha and another suspect after they fulfilled their bail conditions.
However, Abeysinghe was returned to prison custody as he was unable to satisfy the bail requirements. (Newswire)
