
The elephant known as Randeniya Bandara, previously referred to as the Warakagoda elephant and residing in Randeniya, Kegalle, is receiving medical treatment after being injured in a road accident in the Kurunegala–Melsiripura Omaragolla area.
According to reports, the accident occurred when the elephant was struck by a tipper truck driven recklessly and unsafely.
The collision left the elephant seriously injured, prompting veterinarians to immediately begin primary medical treatment to stabilize its condition.
