Four motorcyclists were among five people killed in separate road accidents reported across Sri Lanka on July 28, according to Police.
In Hurigaswewa, a 59-year-old motorcyclist died after losing control of his motorcycle while attempting to avoid a dog crossing the road.
In Godakawela, a 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed after his motorcycle veered off the road and overturned. A pillion rider was injured in the crash.
In Mawatagama, a 67-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a motorcycle while crossing the Kandy–Kurunegala road. The rider and pillion passenger were also injured.
In Mahawa, a 65-year-old motorcyclist died after his motorcycle collided with a car that had entered the main road from a side road. The car driver has been arrested.
Police said investigations into all four fatal motorcycle-related accidents are underway. (Newswire)
