Six people have been reported missing in Nuwara Eliya following heavy rains and weather-related incidents that have affected more than 2,331 people across the district.
According to Nuwara Eliya District Secretary Thushari Thennakoon, the adverse weather has affected 2,331 people from 581 families, while 1,734 people have been relocated to seven welfare centres.
The missing persons include two individuals believed to have been swept away by floodwaters and four others reported missing following a landslide incident, she said.
Three people have also sustained injuries due to the prevailing weather conditions. (Newswire)
