SriLankan Airlines has launched a promotional campaign in Mumbai to encourage Indian cricket fans to visit Sri Lanka during the upcoming two-Test series between the two countries.
The campaign aims to attract cricket enthusiasts by promoting Sri Lanka as a destination where visitors can enjoy both live Test cricket and a holiday experience.
As part of the initiative, the airline has installed LED outdoor hoardings at key locations across Mumbai, including Kings Circle, BKC T Junction, Chembur and SCLR. The advertisements have been strategically placed to reach commuters during peak morning and evening traffic.
The India tour of Sri Lanka will begin with a three-day warm-up match at the NCC Grounds in Colombo from August 7 to 9. The first Test will be played at the Galle International Cricket Stadium from August 15 to 19, while the second Test will be held at the SSC Grounds in Colombo from August 23 to 27.
SriLankan Airlines said Mumbai remains a key source market for tourism to Sri Lanka, and with cricket being a shared passion between the two countries, it expects strong interest from travellers during the series.
The campaign also promotes Sri Lanka’s beaches, heritage and cultural attractions, encouraging visitors to combine the cricket tour with a broader holiday experience.
The airline said the initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence in the Indian market while promoting Sri Lanka as a destination for both leisure and sports tourism. (Newswire)
