Police have appealed to the public for assistance in locating a 39‑year‑old resident of Hikkaduwa wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a female cashier at a restaurant in Meetiyagoda on 17 November 2025.
According to the Police, investigations are being carried out by the Meetiyagoda Police Station, which confirmed that the gunman has been identified but is currently absconding.
Authorities said the suspect is also wanted in connection with shootings in the Gandara and Ambalangoda police divisions, and several warrants have been issued against him in cases pending before the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court.
