Visitors will not be permitted to enter the Magazine prison premises following Thursday’s unrest, authorities have said.
A notice displayed outside prison facilities informed the public that visits have been temporarily suspended.
The move comes after a tense situation involving around 40 inmates was reported at Magazine Prison in Borella on Thursday night.
Police Media Spokesman said the situation has since been brought under control.
Eleven inmates were hospitalized after sustaining injuries during the unrest, according to the Prison Media Spokesman.
Police and the Special Task Force (STF) have been deployed to provide external security at the prison. (Newswire)
