Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam, who was arrested by the Central Criminal Investigation Bureau (CCIB) today, has been released on two surety bail bonds of Rs. 2 million each.
Kaduwela Magistrate Aruna Indrajith ordered his release and imposed a travel ban on Kariyawasam.
Kariyawasam was arrested after he arrived at the CCIB to provide a statement over remarks allegedly made concerning the Inspector General of Police. (Newswire)
