A Sri Lanka Navy Dvora vessel has met with an accident in the seas off Angulana.
According to the Navy spokesperson, rescue operations were launched to assist those on board the vessel.
11 people who were on board have been rescued and hospitalized, while one person remains missing.
The Sri Lanka Air Force is assisting with the rescue and surveillance operation.
The Air Force said an Mi-17 helicopter and a Bell 412 helicopter have been deployed to observe the vessel and support the ongoing operation. (Newswire)
