Three people have been arrested in connection with an incident in which a bus and a main road were allegedly blocked before a person was threatened with a sword in Divulapitiya.
Police said the incident occurred on August 11 and was subsequently widely circulated on social media.
The driver of the car allegedly involved in the incident, another man who was travelling in the vehicle, and a woman were arrested by Divulapitiya Police on August 13.
Police said legal action has been initiated against the suspects under several provisions of the Penal Code, while the driver also faces charges under the Motor Traffic Act.
The suspects were produced before the Minuwangoda Magistrate’s Court on August 14.
