Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Minister Sunil Handunnetti has held discussions with a group of Australian investors and entrepreneurs on potential investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.
The discussions were held in Clyde North, Victoria, with the participation of the Deputy Director General of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) and the Chairman of the Export Development Board (EDB), along with other officials.
Several potential investment projects were discussed, including sustainable energy solutions, recycling initiatives in the apparel sector, commercial dairy farming and livestock breeding.
The discussions also covered a proposed large-scale 3D printing and equipment manufacturing facility using recycled plastic at the Ekala Industrial Estate, as well as integrated aquaculture projects, eco-friendly tourism projects in Marawila and food processing ventures.
Projects involving Australian companies ECOGEN, AusLoop Global Solutions, FRMAFIRST, OSCS Holdings and FLEXIMAKE were also discussed during the meeting.
According to the Ministry, the investors expressed interest in pursuing the proposed projects and agreed to take further steps towards their potential implementation in Sri Lanka. (Newswire)
