An unidentified male body has washed ashore near Galle Face in Colombo, Police said.
The body was found along the coastline near Galle Face on the morning of August 15 following information received by the Fort Police.
Police said the identity of the deceased has not yet been established, while the body was in a condition that made identification difficult.
The deceased was wearing a pink long-sleeved shirt and shorts at the time the body was discovered.
The body has been placed at the National Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
Fort Police are conducting further investigations to establish the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding the death. (Newswire)
